The Autoxross team were at Foxhall Stadium in Ipswitch this bank holiday to support Team Hunn on the Fiestas second race meeting since Hednesford earlier on this month. Despite the high temperature and difficult conditions we are pleased that Terry Hunn achieved such fantastic results in our new car. Following the meeting at Hednesford where we sustained damage after multiple incidents, we only had to replace the front bumper and rear tailgate as the chassis was untouched so after repairing some panels, the car was ready for its next race.
Amongst the high temperatures causing the car to overheat, a leaking haftshaft was dropping oil on the tyres however Terry still finished 5th in Heat 1, therefore he started from the back of the blue tops in Heat 2.
Heat 2 was even more successful, after Terry managed to avoid the chaos that broke loose on track and with the race restarting multiple times he finished 2nd, qualifying him for the final where he started on outside pole.
Unfortunately, we got a DNF in the final after the diff had blown, however up until this point, the fiesta was more than capable of racing competitively within the top 4.
We look forward to getting the Fiesta ready for the next meeting this weekend and will be working very hard to resolve our few teething problems.
